ESC Region 7 UIL Congressional Debate Invitational

We are excited to announce that we are hosting an ESC7 Invitational on October 30, 2023 at Stephen F Austin University in the Baker Pattillo Student Center.
We will operate this as close to the regional meet procedures as possible to prepare students for the “real” competition which will be only a week or so away. We will advance to finals for awards purposes, but everyone will be guaranteed an afternoon session as well (consolation rounds). If there are students who advance to finals, but would rather get PO experience in the consolation rounds, we can try to make that happen (depending on numbers).
The cost is $10 per student made payable to Chireno ISD. Coaches are required to be willing to judge as needed or bring a judge with them. Experience is not necessary. This is can be a great learning experiences for coaches too. No judges will be hired.
There will be an initial limit of 5 students per school; however, at the close of registration, we will add waitlisted students as space allows. Bringing more than 5 students may create a need for a school to bring two judges.
The deadline to enter is Wednesday, October 25. We will send waitlist notices onThursday so you can adequately prepare if we are able to accept your students.
Check in will be on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. A specific room will be provided at a later date.
